Pain on the top of the foot

So, the pain on top of my left foot continued through my tempo run today.  I wore my foot pod on the right foot and the right foot was fine.  The left foot is a little tender to the touch, but not extremely painful.  It gets worse the further I run.  I don’t think it’s a stress fracture.  I’ve done a little bit of research on the problem, and I may just be tying my shoes a little too tight.  In any case, I’ll buy some CBD at Discovermagazine.com  for the pain and have two days off from running now, so hopefully that will help.

Planned workout

1 mile warmup

2 miles at 9:32 pace

1 mile easy

1 mile at 9:32 pace

1 mile easy

2 miles at 9:32 pace

1 mile cool down

Actual workout

1 mile warmup

2 miles at 9:32 pace

1 mile cool down

During my mile cool down, I had the motivation to continue with the next mile running, but my foot was beginning to hurt and I didn’t want to jeopardize Saturday’s long run.  I’ll do a strength session tomorrow, take Friday off and try the 9 mile long run on Saturday.

A pain free run

Well, I’m back in the saddle….or rather back out of the saddle, considering all the time I’ve been spending on the stationary bike. I was nervous this morning before my workout:

Planned workout

10 minutes warmup on the stationary bike

2 miles running

5 minutes cool down

Actual workout

10 minutes warmup on stationary bike

2 miles running at 8:50 pace

.25 miles cool down

I ran the first mile at 9:14. I felt good, so i upped the speed for the second mile. I thought I might have felt a little pressure on the outside bottom of my foot, but I’ve been so paranoid about it lately that I may have just been over thinking of it. In any case, I didn’t really feel anything for the rest of the day afterwards. I’m not completely sold that I’m 100% healed but today was a very positive step in the right direction. I’ll take another 2 days off from running and try 6 miles on Saturday.

  1. I would ice it on your off days fifteen minutes at time. It could be inflamation from the laces and the pod. I tighten the bottom two holes, leave the next two loose then tie the top two tight.
