9 miles of…ouch

I started out pretty well on my 9 miler this morning, but about halfway through, I started to literally develop a pain in the butt.  I’m pretty sure it’s a strained muscle or misaligned something or other impinging on my sciatic nerve since the sensation sometimes travels all the way down to my knee.  It’s definitely cause for concern because it got worse as I ran and actually was unbearable by the end.  I did find that stopping to stretch usually bought me another quarter mile of pain free running, but in the end, I had to walk most of the last 3 miles.  I’m going to skip tomorrow’s run and I have a regularly scheduled appointment with my chiropractor on Friday.  Hopefully a simple adjustment will fix this up and I’ll be good to go for my 18 miler on Saturday.
